Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Janitor/Caretaker to join our team at Argyll Bute Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our educational facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces
  • Restock supplies and maintain inventory of cleaning materials
  • Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and unclogging drains
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and report any hazards or incidents
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to achieve common goals and objectives

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a janitorial or maintenance role, preferably in an educational setting
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, and to stand for long periods
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures and regulations
