About the Role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Administrative Officer to join our team at University Hospital Ayr. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional clerical and reception services to patients and visitors alike.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing a welcoming and efficient service to patients and visitors, responding to queries and resolving issues promptly
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to data protection and confidentiality guidelines
  • Managing admissions and outpatient appointments, ensuring seamless communication with healthcare teams
  • Answering phone calls, relaying messages, and directing inquiries to relevant personnel

Requirements:

  • A strong background in administration, preferably within a healthcare setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Familiarity with computerized patient administration systems, with a willingness to learn and adapt

Salary and Benefits:

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of £23,000 - £26,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. In addition to a generous annual leave entitlement, we offer a range of benefits, including pension scheme membership, life assurance, and access to training and development opportunities.

Working Arrangements:

This is a permanent position, working 20.71 hours per week over two weeks, with a shift rotation that includes weekdays, evenings, and occasional weekends. You will be required to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team, sharing best practices and contributing to a positive and inclusive work environment.
