Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Water Hygiene Program Manager to join our Housing service. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations related to the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and ACOP L8: The Control of Water Hygiene Bacteria in Water Systems.

This role plays a crucial part in safeguarding both residents and staff by ensuring that asbestos and water hygiene risks are properly managed across the Council's housing stock.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the delivery of the asbestos and water hygiene compliance programs.
  • Ensure accurate risk assessments, surveys, and monitoring of asbestos and water hygiene risks across Council-owned properties.
  • Manage contractors responsible for delivering asbestos removal, water hygiene monitoring, and remediation.
  • Provide specialist advice and coaching to internal teams on asbestos and water hygiene management.
  • Ensure regular reporting and updates to senior management on the progress of the asbestos and water hygiene programs.

Requirements
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (Level 3) in Health and Safety or equivalent.
  • BOHS P405: Management of Asbestos in Buildings or equivalent qualification.
  • IOSH Water Hygiene Management Certificate or equivalent.
  • Level 4 Asbestos Management Qualification or a recognized certification in Water Hygiene Risk Management.
  • Certification in Asbestos Awareness and Water Hygiene Awareness Training in line with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and ACOP L8.

Salary Information

We offer a competitive salary range of £52,584 - £55,620 per annum, dependent on experience.
