Machine Learning Scientist

We are partnering with a cutting-edge AI-focused start-up in the transport sector to find a talented Machine Learning Scientist to join their team of 15 technical experts. The successful candidate will work on projects utilising simulation and optimisation techniques, as well as machine learning, to drive efficiency in the network.

The Role

As a Machine Learning Scientist for the business, you will:

  • Apply simulation techniques to understand the network in real-time and provide recommendations for real-time interventions
  • Optimise resource allocation using advanced algorithms
  • Develop and implement predictive modelling and deep learning techniques to improve network efficiency
  • Take projects from concept to deployment, working autonomously and collaboratively with the team

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's or PhD in a relevant subject, such as Operational Research, Maths, Statistics, or Physics
  • Strong commercial experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer, with a proven track record of delivering end-to-end projects
  • Experience working with simulation and/or optimisation techniques
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a start-up environment
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Cloud technology

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £65,000-£80,000, plus a comprehensive benefits package and the opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment.
