Laser Systems Test and Characterisation Engineer

Up to £35,000 per annum

About the Position:

This role involves working with high-power diode lasers, performing tests and characterisations in a laboratory setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of laser systems and relevant measurement techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To conduct high power laser diode testing, including spectral analysis and beam profiling.
  2. Develop and document operating procedures for high power diode laser testing stations.
  3. Design and implement calibration procedures for high power diode laser testing stations.
  4. Perform set-up, calibration and troubleshooting tasks on circuitry, components and mechanical assemblies.
  5. Analyse test data and present results in a clear and concise manner.
  6. Develop new test methodologies and integrate equipment hardware and software.
  7. Manage test schedules and results databases.
  8. Foster ongoing improvement of test station accuracy, repeatability and productivity.
