About the Role:

The Mechanical and Electrical Assembler will play a crucial role in the development of our prototype motors and associated electronics. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, testing, and troubleshooting these components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assembly and Testing: Assemble development prototype motors, gearboxes, sensors, cable looms, and power and control electronics.
  • Performance Evaluation: Test drive solutions using in-house dynamometer and data capturing equipment, understand test issues, and propose solutions.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve mechanical/electrical issues proactively.
  • Design Support: Provide feedback to design team for design enhancement from prototypes to series production.
  • Component Sourcing: Support design team in sourcing components, materials, and services for prototype and production projects.
  • Off-Site Testing: Support off-site product testing at third-party test houses for environmental testing.
  • Test Rig Design: Design test rigs to ensure developed products meet/exceed design specifications.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Mechanical and Electrical Assembly: Multi-disciplined engineering capabilities including mechanical and electrical assembly, inspection, and testing.
  • Inspection Equipment: Competent with manual and automated inspection equipment.
  • Computer-Based Test Equipment: Experience with computer-based test equipment.
  • Software Test Scripts: Confident with generating software test scripts and programming devices.
  • Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Travel and Representation: Capable and confident to travel to external sites to represent the Company.

Estimated Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
