We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Academics. As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs in a mainstream secondary school.
About the Role:- Work closely with the inclusion team and teachers to understand the needs of the students
- Ensure that equipment and facilities are safe for the children to use
- Listening closely to the teacher to understand the task and then adapting it accordingly if required
- Report any safeguarding concerns promptly and accurately
- A genuine desire to work with children with special education needs
- A caring, compassionate and resilient nature
- A 'can-do' attitude but also being pro-active rather than always waiting for direction
- You will require a DBS check (which we can support you with)
- You must not be barred from working with children
- You will have grades 9-4 (A*-C) in GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
- A great stepping stone into other fields such as psychology and youth work
- Progression opportunities within teaching
- Term-time only which means lots of holiday
- Secured work 5 days per week
