Job Title:

A 7.5T/C1 driver is required to make deliveries and collections in the Edinburgh area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a 7.5T van, safely transporting goods between locations, and adhering to all relevant safety regulations.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Vehicle Inspection: Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure vehicles are roadworthy and compliant with safety standards.
  2. Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent mechanical issues and report any problems to the relevant personnel.
  3. Cargo Handling: Safely load and unload cargo, ensuring it is securely fastened according to safety regulations.
  4. Delivery and Collection: Make deliveries and collections within designated areas, communicating with dispatch and customers as necessary.
  5. Payment Processing: Process payments for goods delivered and maintain accurate records of transactions.
  6. Record Keeping: Accurately record information following deliveries and collections, including completion of Waste Transfer Notes.
Requirements:
  1. Driving Licence & Clean Record: Possess a valid UK driving licence with no points or endorsements (up to 7 points).
  2. Van Driving Experience: Proven experience driving 7.5T vans.
  3. Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with the transport office, customers, and other drivers.
  4. Sales Experience (Desirable): Experience in business-to-business sales and achieving sales targets as part of a driving role would be an advantage but is not essential.
