Operative - Metal Detector Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Operative to join our team at Pilgrim's Europe. As a Metal Detector Specialist, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling the metal detector CCP, performing checks as directed by company policy and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control the metal detector CCP to ensure product quality and safety.
- Perform checks as directed by company policy and customer requirements.
- Highlight any issues or concerns with quality to the area Line Controller, Process controller, Operation Team Leader or Production Manager for immediate corrective action.
- Ensure effective liaison, team working and interaction with other operatives and supervisory staff.
- Perform tasks as trained and operate, programme and monitor the Delford or other labelling machinery.
- Monitor the Metal detection CCP and complete checks and paperwork as required.
- Advise managers when not trained for tasks you are being asked to carry out.
- Ensure the health and safety of oneself and others by working in a manner that promotes a safe working environment.
- Report any health and safety issues to your immediate manager.
- Report any accidents or near misses to the first aider in the area.
- Set a good example of behaviour and work in a manner which ensures Quality and Hygiene standards are maintained in the production environment.
- Ensure productivity standards are maintained and work in a manner that actively seeks to reduce any negative environmental impact.
- Be ready at the start of shift, to carry out specified checks in an accurate, timely and methodical manner, causing the minimum of delay or disruption to the production process.
- Record all information, generated throughout the shift, on the appropriate sheets, accurately and legibly.
- Quickly report any anomalies to the appropriate manager so that corrective action may be taken.
- Ensure any equipment needed, is available and functioning and ready to hand, to enable completion of checks in a competent and efficient manner.
- Be able to check and operate all designated labelling, weighing, measuring or monitoring equipment, to ensure it is fully operational and accurate within specifications.
- Acquaint oneself with changes to product specifications to product specifications and testing procedures as they evolve, thus ensuring operation to the current standard expected.
- At shift change over, ensure all relevant information, documentation and equipment is passed to the oncoming Delford operative.
