Job Title: Night Support Worker

Gordon Moody is a leading charity dedicated to providing support and treatment for those severely affected by gambling harms. Our Redditch site is a brand-new 27-bed facility opening in November, and we are looking for a Night Support Worker to join our team.

Job Purpose:

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting service users throughout the night to ensure their safety, wellbeing, and sustain a person's recovery. This will involve ensuring all service users are on-site and remain on-site throughout the evening, checking CCTV regularly, and addressing problems arising within the house individually or within house meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address problems arising within the house individually or within house meetings.
  • Support service users to meet their wider health and social care needs, both whilst in treatment and on exit to the community, in line with their support plans.
  • Undertake evening Health & Safety checks of communal areas and staff areas.
  • Support the development of the programme through evaluation, continuous improvement, and development projects as necessary.
  • Partake in learning and development opportunities, for personal development and to maintain up-to-date knowledge within the field.
  • Carry out required administration functions, including risk assessments, incident reporting, correspondence, monitoring, data capture and updating the electronic case management database, ensuring quality record keeping.
  • Partake in available support structures, including managerial supervision, team meetings, clinical meetings, and handovers.
  • Contribute to and support the service to meet contractual KPI's, including occupancy, retention, and discharge, as commissioned.
  • Partake in learning and development opportunities, for personal development and to maintain up-to-date knowledge.
  • Be a flexible, positive member of the team to maintain high standards of service provision.
  • Proactively support the work of the organisation with all stakeholders.
  • Proactively engage with organisational change, quality improvement, and development for the benefit of people who use our services.
  • Understanding of risk, incident, and safeguarding processes.
  • Experience working in a health and social care environment (e.g., residential, mental health or drug support services).
  • Ability to work in a rota pattern including weekends when required.
  • Computer literate with experience using database systems, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
  • Level 3 NVQ Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a structured Health and Social Care environment.
  • Training in therapeutic approaches.
  • Experience in using care-focused software to record care plans.
