Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs in a therapeutic school environment. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students, aged 7-18 years, to ensure they have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with a range of special educational needs, including ASC, ADHD, Attachment Disorders, and Learning Difficulties such as Dyslexia.
  • Work one-to-one and in small groups to provide emotional and academic support.
  • Collaborate with class teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Effectively manage and de-escalate challenging behavior, promoting a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Build rapport and trust with students to support their social, emotional, and mental health.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people with special educational needs, ideally in an educational setting.
  • Ability to demonstrate experience of behavior de-escalation, restoration, and management.
  • Sound understanding of social, emotional, and mental health, with the ability to provide appropriate support.
  • Empathetic, patient, and resilient individual with a passion for supporting young people.
