Wine Connoisseur Wanted

The Roseate Reading is seeking a skilled Wine Connoisseur to join our team. As a Wine Connoisseur, you will be responsible for promoting wine sales through staff and customer education, and by:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ordering wines and maintaining the wine stock
  • Creating a wine list and writing wine descriptions
  • Suggesting food and wine pairings to servers and customers
  • Recommending wines based on customer preferences
  • Training waitstaff on wines
  • Conducting wine tastings for staff and customers
  • Hosting winery tours
Requirements:
  • Strong interpersonal and sales skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work outside regular business hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Excellent personal hygiene
  • Adherence to alcohol handling laws and regulations
  • Interest in continuing education
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
