Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Financial Operations Coordinator to join our team at Centre People Appointments. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing financial support and coordination services to ensure the smooth operation of our maritime finance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and familiarize yourself with wage scales, allowances, and other manning-related costs within the Seafarer Division (SFD).
  • Assist in organizing workload for upcoming months.
  • Verify manning and training invoices in PAL.
  • Assist in reviewing and challenging manning agents for any inconsistencies encountered within their monthly invoices.
  • Understand officers' and crew wage scales, allowances, and all crewing costs.
  • Request the Finance department for account movements to transfer invoices under the correct account budget code.
  • Monitor and capture expenses arising from P&I Personal Injury/Illness claims, raise debit notes for deductibles, and outstanding costs at claim closure.
  • Coordinate with P&I Clubs, Manning agents, and SFD members.
  • Update records of P&I cases in SharePoint for claim matters.
  • Attend periodic SFD Meetings when required.
  • Assist CTM requests.
  • Prepare monthly accruals.
  • Review monthly operating expense reports (OPEX) to ensure actual expenditure is in line with budget.
  • Develop crewing budgets when required.
  • Prepare vessel crew pre-delivery and operating expense budgets.
  • Check all invoices, such as Portage Bills, Port Disbursements, Airfare invoices, Training Invoices, and statements from Manning agents and suppliers, to ensure no double billing and correct charges.
  • Request credit notes from suppliers and coordinate with the Finance Division to delete invoices.
  • Perform other finance duties as directed by the SFD Team.

Requirements:

  • Accounting experience
  • Language skills: Business-level fluency in English
  • PC skills: Good IT skills, basic Excel skills
  • Character: Good communication skills, team worker, reliable
  • Character: Attention to detail, eager to learn new skills

Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Contract Type: Contract, 6 months (with strong likelihood of extension)

Location: London

Working Hours: Monday to Friday
