Assistant Director and Security Assurance Manager

Specsolutions is seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Director and Security Assurance Manager to lead our regional teams and implement a security culture uplift nationally.
About the Role:
The Assistant Director and Security Assurance Manager will be responsible for managing and developing an integrated team of security professionals to provide highly specialised, targeted security advice and support for senior leadership, researchers, and staff. The successful applicant will lead a regional security team across Specsolutions sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of security professionals to provide expert advice and support on protective security matters.
- Develop and implement security strategies and policies to ensure compliance with legislative frameworks and government decision-making.
- Manage and maintain physical security certification and accreditation of Specsolutions facilities.
- Conduct security risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the safety and security of Specsolutions staff and assets.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve protective security objectives and promote a positive security culture.
About Our Team:
The Security Operations Team comprises of two regional teams; Region 1 – Northern, Central and West Zones, manages Specsolutions sites in South Australia, Northern Territory, Western Australia, and Queensland. Region 2: East and South East Zones, manages Specsolutions sites in Victoria, Tasmania, New South Wales, and the Australian Capital Territory. Our team consists of APS security professionals who work collaboratively to advise and support the Specsolutions workforce.
Requirements:
- Sound knowledge of Australian Government and Defence security principles, policy and controls.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to interpret policy and develop solutions to complex problems.
- Experience in security risk management and compliance.
