Occupational Therapist

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our team at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children aged 0-19 years with a range of neurological, genetic, and developmental conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and treat children aged 5-19 within our Special Schools team, managing your own caseload autonomously.
- Delegate effectively to junior staff and coordinate the day-to-day running of the service, including reallocating staff when needed.
- Assess for and issue postural equipment as clinically indicated, including postural seating, toileting/bathing support, and manual handling equipment.
- Lead on quality improvement and service development projects, including supporting the Clinical Lead in submitting business cases.
- Support with ongoing audits required for KPI data submission.

Requirements- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Knowledge of relevant disability, NHS, and social care legislation, including safeguarding.
- Highly specialist knowledge and understanding of the application of Occupational Therapy for neurological and neurodevelopmental paediatric-related conditions.
- Able to demonstrate required clinical knowledge of up to-date children's Occupational Therapy interventions and service issues.
- A comprehensive understanding of the diverse needs of children and young people.
- Advanced clinical reasoning skills, as well as analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of NHS policies and national agendas.
