Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Chemical Plant Packing Operator to join our team at PQ Corporation. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for safely carrying out the duties of a chemical plant packer across multiple areas of the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and Set-up: Prepare and set up the packing system in line with standard instructions, ensuring all packaging, equipment, labeling, and raw materials are available for the specific planned product and tonnage.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the Microniser Operator to meet set KPIs, and communicate effectively with the team to ensure smooth production processes.
  • Quality and Safety: Adhere to packing guidelines for sampling, pack presentation, labeling, weight control, addition of additives, reworking, and adhering to good manufacturing practice.
  • Environmental and Company Standards: Comply with safety, environmental, and company standards, including auditing, reporting, team improvement activities, and housekeeping in multiple areas.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance: Clean down process equipment and packing areas, maintaining GMP standards.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Industrial Experience: Mandatory
  • Manual Handling Skills: Formal training preferred
  • Experience of 24-Hour Continuous Shift Working: Preferred
  • Units and Elements of C&G PT2 Process Plant Operations or NVQ Level 1: Desirable
  • Current FLT - Powered Hand Truck License: Desirable
