Gateline Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Gateline Assistant. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to passengers and ensuring the smooth operation of our railway station.

• Provide a high level of customer service to passengers, responding to their queries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
• Work closely with the Revenue Protection Team to ensure the accurate checking of travel tickets and passes.
• Direct passengers to the ticket vending machine to minimize queues at the ticket office.
• Carry out Bus Liaison duties during engineering works, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of passengers.
• Ensure the safety of others and the area around them is clear from obstruction.
• Report any faults with the Gates to a supervisor.
• Report any anti-social behaviour in accordance with the Railway Byelaws.
• Maintain a clean and tidy environment.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a similar position.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work on a rota basis.
• Availability to start immediately.
