Job Summary

We are recruiting for a Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our dynamic team at the NHS. As a key member of our gastroenterology service, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with gastrointestinal disorders.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in gastroenterology and general internal medicine, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities and Requirements

Key responsibilities include managing gastroenterology and general medical patients as inpatients and outpatients, supporting the delivery of the out-of-hours GI bleed rota, and collaborating with the regional interventional radiology service.

You will also contribute to improving the emergency patient pathway by delivering early consultant-led specialist input for patients with GI disorders and facilitating early discharge through timely endoscopies.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will hold full GMC registration, a CCST/CCT in Gastroenterology / General Medicine, or equivalent, and have IELTS (Academic) level 7.5 or be a graduate of a Medical School in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, USA, or Canada.

Broad experience in general gastroenterology and general internal medicine is essential, with a strong ability to perform emergency endoscopy for GI bleeding.
