Job Summary

We are seeking a Health, Safety and Environmental Specialist to join our Facilities team in our People directorate.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining awareness of and ensuring compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental legislation to provide a safe working environment for staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice and guidance to colleagues on Health, Safety and Environmental matters to ensure full compliance with legislation.
  • Deliver a varied mix of customer-focused facilities services to meet operational objectives.
  • Lead and implement Environmental initiatives, campaigns and projects in line with the Environmental strategy.
  • Compile monthly, quarterly and annual performance reporting on Health, Safety and Environmental activities.
  • Investigate Health and Safety issues, including accidents relating to working conditions, and implement improvements where required.
  • Lead, coach, train and develop individuals to maximize performance.
  • Contribute to the organization's continuous improvement initiatives through identification, analysis and recommendation of process improvements, efficiency savings and potential required changes to policy.

Requirements:

  • Education to SCQF level 6 (Higher/SVQ 3) or direct relevant experience.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment.
