Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure continuous production and improve efficiencies safely through effectively implementing maintenance repairs and responding in a timely manner to breakdown repairs.
- Apply continuous improvement methodologies that improve the operational function.
- Maintain Health & Safety rules and regulations.
- Identify potential hazards/risks to the Health & Safety Manager/responsible person upon discovery.
- Ensure all requested repairs & improvement projects are completed and reported back to your assigned supervisory engineer.
- Assist the Engineering department in achieving its budget targets through the efficient use of materials and replacement parts.
- Follow the correct accounting/authorisation process when ordering replacement parts.
- Maintain and improve standards of hygiene and housekeeping in all areas of the factory including the Engineering Fabrication workshop & associated workshops / areas.
- Ensure all Hot Work Permits and Risk assessments are in place and closed off after work has been completed.
- Ensure steel stores / consumables are kept stocked and replenished as required.
- Assist with routine PPM when assigned (specific training will be provided) and take part in reactive work as part of the wider engineering team.
- Maintenance and repairs: welding, cutting, grinding, metal forming/bending, drilling and tapping, measurements/math's accuracy/trigonometry, fabrication ideas and development/solutions, construct fabrication drawings, transfer best practice to further the development and performance of the engineering function.
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
- Perform any other duties as required by management and within the competency of the post holder.
