Job Description

Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Reception Class Support

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Primary School, Borough of Haringey, North London

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) in a Reception class. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to tailor learning experiences that help the child thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide focused 1:1 support to the pupil during classroom activities, playtime, and other school events.
  • Help the pupil navigate the school day, offering guidance and reassurance when needed.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to adapt lesson plans and activities to suit the pupil's individual needs.
  • Monitor the pupil's progress, offering feedback and suggestions to improve their experience at school.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant working with children with ASC is highly desirable.
  • A patient, compassionate approach with the ability to be attentive to the pupil's needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • A valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one through Reeson Education.
