Assistant Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Psychologist to join our team in the S-CAMHS service at Hywel Dda University Health Board. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Llanelli, with opportunities for part-time hours considered.
Main DutiesThe successful candidate will provide clinical sessions for Partnership work within the locality team, working with young people with a variety of mental health difficulties, and their families. They will carry a clinical caseload and be encouraged to develop skills in a range of psychological approaches, including CBT, ACT, and systemic therapy.
In addition, the post-holder will support the Clinical Psychologist working with Care Experienced Children within S-CAMHS, across the South of the Health Board footprint. This will involve working directly with young people and their carers using an attachment and relational model, as well as supporting complex multi-agency systems to develop psychological and trauma-informed ways of working.

Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will have a degree in Psychology, entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society, and experience of working as an assistant psychologist or in a similar role. They will also have experience of working with children, young people, and their families, as well as conducting psychometric assessments. A Welsh Speaker - Level 1 is desirable.
The ability to travel around the footprint of the Health Board in a timely manner and work evenings and weekends, depending on the needs of the service, is essential.
