Your new company is seeking a dedicated Primary School Support Worker to join their team in a small school just outside Derby centre. This school has high levels of SEND and behavioural needs, making it an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to make a real difference in the lives of young learners.

As a Primary School Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to work closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing individual and group support to students with SEMH needs, ensuring their well-being and engagement in learning.
  • Implementing effective behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and minimise disruptions.
  • Assisting students in accessing the curriculum, adapting materials as needed.
  • Building strong relationships with students, offering emotional support and encouragement.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and interventions.

Requirements for this role include:

  • Experience in a child-facing role.
  • Relevant teaching assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working with SEND children is essential.
  • Excellent classroom practice.
  • Behaviour management.
  • Enthusiasm and flexibility.
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
