Role Description

Ernest Doe & Sons Ltd is seeking a skilled Equipment Repair Technician to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the success of our organization.

About the Equipment Repair Technician Role

This role involves working with construction machinery, diagnosing faults, and performing repairs to ensure optimal equipment performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the construction industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Repair and maintain equipment for customers associated with construction machinery.
  • Diagnose faults and successfully carry out repairs which may be chargeable, warrantable or internal type jobs.
  • Lifting of heavy machinery, applying common sense to items that require the assistance of special tools.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers as required.
  • Complete in full the job cards relating to work undertaken including machine detail, time and mileage and any accompanying documentation such as PDI sheets, Delivery forms and Photo's as necessary.
Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A good, sound knowledge of the construction industry and its equipment (advantageous).
  • The ability to diagnose hydraulic and electrical faults.
  • The ability to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Able to work under pressure and to customer demands, including long hours and weekend cover (rota based).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Competent in the use of computers.
  • Maintain a good general level of health and fitness.
