About the Job:

We are seeking a reliable and experienced HGV Class 2 driver to join our team at Connect2Luton. As a Refuse Truck Driver, you will be responsible for operating a refuse truck within the Borough of Luton, collecting and disposing of commercial and residential waste.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a refuse truck on designated routes, collecting and disposing of waste in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Interact with customers and members of the public in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Work collaboratively with other drivers and support staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in good working condition.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment as required.

Requirements:

  • HGV Class 2 licence with a minimum of 12 months' experience.
  • Clean driving licence (ideally).
  • Good time keeping skills and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as required.
  • Pair of safety boots.
