Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support primary school students in Hull who require additional help.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist students with a range of special educational needs, including SEND, SEMH, and ADHD, in small groups or one-to-one settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt lessons and resources to cater to individual students' needs.
  • Help deliver tailored learning plans in line with the curriculum and key stages.
  • Offer classroom support in the absence of teachers to ensure continuous learning.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and help students develop social skills, confidence, and independence.
Requirements:
  • CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
  • Previous experience working with children, especially those with special educational needs, or experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant in a primary setting.
  • Strong communication skills, with a patient and compassionate approach to working with young learners.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a positive learning environment.
