Job Overview
Tetra Tech is a leading provider of high-end consulting and engineering services for projects worldwide. We are seeking a talented Project Director to manage projects of national importance, working closely with our clients, stakeholders, and colleagues from other disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • A leader who empowers and inspires others to deliver successful outcomes
  • A collaborative team manager who works with the whole project team to develop objectives and agree ways of working
  • Experienced in managing contracts, ensuring compliance with contract terms
  • Capable of managing design teams and design processes against agreed delivery timescales
  • Monitors progress against schedules, manages resources against baselines, and identifies variances requiring action
  • Monitors financial performance throughout the project/programme and prepares reports for stakeholders
  • Prepares Risk Management plans and processes to identify threats and opportunities, assessing impacts and developing suitable response plans
  • Manages consistent application of quality assurance processes and standards
  • Establishes and maintains governance structures that define clear roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities for governance
  • Develops and disseminates stakeholder management and communications plans to meet project/programme objectives
  • Establishes and manages review points to inform governance and evaluate progress
  • Manages change control processes in line with contract conditions
  • Prepares, refines, and updates business cases

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in managing projects and programmes for local/central government bodies or other significant public sector clients
  • Willingness to travel
  • Chartered Project Professional (APM), equivalent, or working towards
  • PMQ Accredited
  • NEC 3/4 accredited preferably
  • Suitable for security clearance, SC or DV Cleared preferably
  • Strong communication skills, including ability to work with senior client representatives
  • Collaborative approach, managing large technical multi-disciplinary teams, and working with partnering customers
  • Keen interest in developing skills in scheduling management
  • Proven ability to deliver to deadlines
  • Able to work collaboratively with clients to deliver results
  • Professional and ethical in all actions
  • Able to identify and develop phased approaches to delivery, working collaboratively with clients to understand and agree project requirements
  • Determined approach to delivery
  • Good practical application of Microsoft Software, including Project, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to prepare and implement a range of project tools, including programmes, risk registers, stakeholder management plans, project execution plans, and quality assurance plans
  • Driving licence essential
