We are seeking an experienced Leasehold Service Charge Recovery Specialist to join our team at Housing Quality Network.

As a key member of our leasehold management team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our customers receive a high-quality service charge recovery experience.

  • The successful candidate will work closely with our finance team to ensure that service charge estimates and actuals are accurate and reflect the true costs of works and services. They will also be responsible for resolving any related customer enquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
  • You will carry out consultations with homeowners prior to commencing any works or entering into long-term agreements under section 20 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 (amended by section 151 of the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002).
  • The ideal candidate will take prompt action when we become aware that a homeowner is acting in breach of their lease, such as carrying out unauthorized works, improper use of the property, failure to maintain the premises, damage to the premises, refusal to give us reasonable access, anti-social behaviour, or neighbour nuisance. They will also be responsible for recovering service charges, including s.20 works debt, in line with our rent and charge collection policy.
  • This may involve obtaining county court judgments, requesting funds from mortgage lenders, obtaining charging orders, and ultimately forfeiture of the property.
  • You will deal with customer requests for specialist leasehold management tasks, including applications for right to manage, enfranchisement, lease extensions, or variations in line with our procedures.

The estimated salary for this role is £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
