Job Title: Pre-Sales Solutions Architect

Job Description

The Pre-Sales Architect will provide field-based presales engagement on sales opportunities and bid proposals, focused on our Public Sector Customers.

They will be expected to engage with customers to understand their infrastructure along with their business operation model and will work with the customer in advising, architecting, planning and modelling future technology and operational designs that will transform their business.

They will own the technical designs and responses required for all selected bids or required proposals allocated to them.

They will be required to attend customer site to gather information, present designs and run workshops to better understand, inform and test customer requirements.

This is a customer-facing role requiring flexibility to travel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ability to cover technical discussions with customers at a high level on their specific technology pillars across multiple vendors in order to identify specific customer requirements and then engage in building designs to meeting customers' business requirements;
  • Work with the Telefónica Tech UK&I Sales Teams to ensure creation of solution & service designs in line with customer requirements;
  • Provide basic sales enablement training for Telefónica Tech UK&I network offerings;
  • Industry awareness of emerging technologies (focus on Public Sector) and being able to articulate benefits and fit for purposes to customers;
  • Always maintain and promote good customer service culture;
  • Able to articulate and present highly technical solutions to customers;
  • Ensure designed solutions are aligned to customer business requirements;
  • Proactively working with the team to ensure KPIs are met;
  • Vendor engagement;
  • Support transition of solutions into the delivery and support teams for customer deployments.
Skills & Experience:

As a Pre-Sales Architect, you are required to understand Telefónica Tech UK's Solutions and Services how they can be integrated to solve traditional end customer business issues. The portfolio is diverse and covers multiple vendors with HPE, PURE, Microsoft, Fortinet, Cisco, making up our strategic service offerings. An agnostic approach and understanding is required across multiple platforms.

Key Skillsets

10 years experience in architecting and solutioning at with Public Sector customers and working across a technology and services solutions in a presales capacity;

  • High degree of commercial awareness around cost modelling for hardware, licences, professional services, 3rd party vendors and managed services;
  • Ability to articulate services to customers at Senior and C level;
  • Working with the Product Management team on future development roadmap based on customer feedback;
  • Contribute to material creation to streamline sales process of Platform solutions;
  • Contribute and participate in Sales enablement training so that the sales community are able to identify and qualify customer opportunities;
  • Desire to learn and continue personal development through training and self-study on new and emerging technology trends;
  • Strong analytical skills, able to break down difficult topics to customers without any technical knowledge;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral, and the ability to communicate with accuracy and clarity;

Qualifications

  • Have a strong background in pre-sales, specifically in complex deals
  • Must have experience of large-scale implementation of single discrete solutions and larger more complex solutions
  • Strong technical experience, working across different technology stacks
  • Must have held lead roles within migration and/or implementation projects from a Presales capacity leading to successful conclusions with customers
  • Strong understanding of bid processes
  • Commercial experience with an understanding of bid finance and creating cost models
  • Excellent organization and communication skills with the ability to present across different levels within a customers organisation
  • Have good commercial awareness and be able to articulate the commercial impacts of technical challenges and opportunities
