About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead our Public Sector Financial Reporting team at Grant Thornton UK.

  • Critically review and manage risk on draft public sector financial statements to support audit teams.
  • Draft responses to complex or unique financial reporting queries and develop internal guidance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Financial Reporting and Accounting Support and Audit Quality teams.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A professional accounting qualification (CIPFA, ACA, ICAS, CA or ACCA).
  • Post-qualification experience in External Audit to Local Authorities and Health bodies or within a Local Government or Health finance function.
  • An excellent grasp of IFRS accounting standards and their implementation in the public sector.
  • Project management experience.
