District Heating Principal/Senior Strategic Project Manager

Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced heat network and energy decarbonization strategic project manager to join our team. As a senior member of our team, you will be responsible for providing project management, stakeholder engagement, and strategy development expertise to support our district heating strategic advisory services.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing project management and stakeholder engagement expertise to support the development of heat networks in local authority areas.
- Developing heat network development strategies and managing implementation of heat network zoning.
- Managing studies and sub-consultants on behalf of clients.
- Supporting work winning and key pursuits.
- Assisting internal strategic planning.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A master's or bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or technical field, or project management.
- Experience working on district heating schemes and government-funded projects.
- Knowledge of heat network zoning regulations in the UK.
- Experience working with local authority clients in the UK and understanding of their governance structures.
- Knowledge of commercial models available to develop heat networks.
- Experience conducting stakeholder engagement activities.
- Knowledge of low-carbon heat generation technologies and waste heat sources.
- Experience interacting with clients and involvement in business development.
- Strong engineering or technical background with work experience in the energy sector.
