Highway Infrastructure Designer

We are looking for an experienced Airport Civil Engineer to join our team at ATTB - The Big Jobsite. As a key member of our civil engineering consultancy, you will be responsible for designing and delivering innovative, sustainable, and practical solutions for drainage, highways, and external works projects.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on complex projects involving drainage networks, highway infrastructures, SUDS, and earthworks assessments with a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team. You will also have the chance to lead on drainage design, highway engineering, SUDS, and external works, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Graduate/Intermediate Engineer
  • Design and develop drainage systems, highways, and external works under senior engineers' guidance.
  • Prepare calculations, reports, and technical drawings to support project deliverables.
  • Collaborate on S104/S98 drainage schemes and S38/S278 highway projects.
• Senior Engineer
  • Lead on drainage design, highway engineering, SUDS, and external works, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables, liaising with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
• Principal Engineer
  • Oversee large, complex projects, providing technical leadership in drainage, highways, and SUDS design.
  • Lead project planning, resource allocation, and quality control.

Core Areas of Expertise:

• Drainage Design: Strategic and detailed design under S104 and S98, flow control structures, balancing facilities.
• Highway Design: Preliminary and detailed designs under S38 and S278 for safe and compliant roadway systems.
• Pumping Stations & SUDS: Design of foul pumping stations, sustainable urban drainage systems, and flow management.

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Relevant experience in drainage, highways, or civil infrastructure design (varies by level).
• Familiarity with industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage).
• Strong understanding of UK standards and regulatory requirements (S104, S98, S38, S278, SUDS).
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
