About the Role

Bridges - Trusted Intelligent Engineering Partner is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Engineering Manager to lead our Civil and Mechanical Engineering team. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for managing and developing a team of engineers to deliver high-quality projects across various sectors.

Main Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Lead, own, and develop the Civil and Mechanical engineering department, ensuring the team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver projects efficiently.
  • Civil Design Capability: Develop a Civil design capability, expanding the knowledge and skills of our experienced Mechanical Design team.
  • Project Oversight: Oversee Civil and Mechanical Engineering Design components of projects, liaising with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with and collaborate with various other departments throughout the business, ensuring seamless communication and project delivery.
  • Site Investigations: Arrange and support site investigations, ensuring that all necessary information is gathered to inform project decisions.
  • Technical Support: Offer technical support to the wider business, providing expertise and guidance as needed.
  • Core Values: Support in the promotion of our core values, ensuring that they are embedded throughout the organization.
Requirements
  • Experience: Very strong Civil design engineering experience on small to medium-sized projects, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • Industry Knowledge: Working in the UK Water and/or Waste Water industries, or similar engineering schemes, with a deep understanding of the sector.
  • Team Management: Managing, developing, and coaching multi-disciplined design teams, with a focus on leadership and development.
  • CAD and Design Systems: Proficient in CAD-based design systems, structural analysis, CDE systems, and planning tools.
  • Design Project Management: Experienced in design project management and financial reporting, with a focus on delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Qualifications: Degree or equivalent in Civil and/or Mechanical Engineering, with professional body memberships.
