Environmental Sustainability Specialist

AVENTA is seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to oversee our UK project, ensuring compliance with environmental policies and regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant environmental laws, regulations, and standards in the UK. Stay updated on legislative changes and assess their impact on the project.
- Environmental Management Systems: Develop, implement, and maintain environmental management systems (EMS) in line with ISO 14001 standards.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and risk assessments to identify potential environmental risks associated with project activities.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Promote sustainable practices across the project, including waste reduction, resource efficiency, and energy management.
- Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs for staff and stakeholders on environmental policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor environmental performance and prepare reports for management and regulatory authorities. Analyze data and trends to drive continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with regulatory bodies, local communities, and other stakeholders to address environmental concerns and foster collaborative relationships.
- Emergency Response: Develop and implement environmental emergency response plans to mitigate potential incidents and ensure swift recovery.
The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to managing environmental risks and promoting sustainability practices within the organization. Estimated salary: £65,000 - £80,000 per annum.
