Job Title: Avionic Technician

Location: Birmingham, UK

Salary: Up to £68,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

Daniel Owen Ltd. provides comprehensive aircraft maintenance services globally. With state-of-the-art facilities in various continents, the company is renowned for its exceptional skills specialising in extension MRO operations and modifications.

The Avionic Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of aircraft systems. This challenging and rewarding position requires a high degree of technical expertise and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Full removal and strip of equipment to ensure accurate repairs and replacements.
  2. Installation of complex wiring harnesses to meet strict safety standards.
  3. Modifications to existing wiring within Avionic shelves and panels to enhance system performance.
  4. Wiring terminations and testing to guarantee seamless integration.
  5. Loom manufacture and testing to ensure precise fits and reliable connections.
  6. Systems testing to verify optimal performance and functionality.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  1. A minimum of 8 years' experience in aircraft maintenance or production.
  2. Previous aircraft production experience with a focus on quality control and assurance.
  3. Previous modification experience with a strong understanding of electrical systems.
  4. Completed an engineering apprenticeship in Aeronautical engineering or a military equivalent, demonstrating a solid foundation in theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
  5. Military aircraft experience with a proven track record of adapting to changing environments and priorities.
  6. Good knowledge of aircraft structures and materials, including metal, composite, and hybrid designs.
  7. Subject to UK Security Vetting to ensure access to sensitive information and secure facilities.
  8. Eligible to work and live in the UK, with a valid visa and relevant documentation.
Training and Development:
  1. Initial Human Factors training to develop awareness of human error and risk management.
  2. Continuation Training Human Factors to reinforce learned concepts and best practices.
  3. Initial SFAR phase 1&2 training to acquire knowledge of Special Federal Aviation Regulation requirements.
  4. Continuation Training SFAR phase 1&2 to maintain proficiency in SFAR procedures.
  5. Initial EWIS group 4 training to understand Electrical Wiring Interconnect System principles.
  6. Continuation Training EWIS group 4 to refine EWIS skills and expertise.
  7. ETOPS training to familiarize with Extended-Range Twin-engine Operational Performance Standards.
  8. RVSM training to understand Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum regulations.
