Main Responsibilities:- Develop new sales to prospective Partners for Before The Event (BTE) Insurance and wider Markel product & services distribution.
- Further develop the Partnership's proposition in line with channel new business campaigns.
- Build a pipeline of new business prospects, engaging with new contacts and establishing relationships.
- Identify new prospects that fit with our Partnership's strategic aims and build a market profile of Markel and the Partnerships channel.
- Build solid relationships with key internal teams, including underwriting, claims, marketing, compliance and legal.
- Strong previous experience working in business development/sales in commercial lines insurance.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral and the ability to confidently present and develop pitches for new business opportunities.
- Self-motivation and proactivity, able to work independently, sourcing new leads as well as fulfilling key development tasks working as part of a wider development team.
- A good understanding and basic use of key applications, such as MS PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
- A great starting salary, car allowance plus annual bonus & strong benefits package.
- 25 days paid holiday (pro rata) plus Bank Holidays, with the opportunity to buy/sell extra leave.
