Marylebone, Greater London, United Kingdom Horizon Teachers Full time

Horizon Teachers is a specialist education recruitment consultancy that helps teachers and support staff find long-term, permanent and interim employment in schools throughout London and the surrounding areas.

We are currently working with a Primary School in Camden that requires a Learning Support Specialist to work one-to-one with a child in their Year 4 class. The child has mild learning difficulties and challenging behaviours, and we need someone who can provide close support and help the class teacher manage their behaviour.

As a Learning Support Specialist, you will be responsible for helping the class teacher prepare for lessons, managing the child's behaviour, and using your initiative to best support them. You will also need to be resilient and able to quickly build a rapport with the child.

The school is committed to providing an environment where children can be excited to learn and curiosity is welcomed. They have great transport links and offer a supportive team of colleagues.

This is a very rewarding role for the right person, offering a competitive salary of up to £550 per week. The role is full-time, starting ASAP or in January until July 2025.

Key Requirements:
  • Experience supporting children within a nursery or school setting
  • Desirable experience supporting children with special educational needs
  • Confident working one-to-one and within small groups of children
  • Able to assist the class teacher with classroom preparation
What We Offer:
  • Each registration process completed from home via one online link and a video call
  • A team of specialist education consultants
  • Great Google review rating
  • Free certified safeguarding training offered to all support staff once registered with Horizon
