About the Role

We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our team at Wärtsilä, a leading innovator in the Marine and Energy markets. As a Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative solutions for our customers, helping to transition the world towards a decarbonised and sustainable future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to provide solutions for the quotation, supply, and operation of Wärtsilä products.
  • Produce technical specifications, such as detailed drawings and component lists, using SolidEdge and SmartTEAM design packages.
  • Create and control technical support information to support the Wärtsilä product portfolio.
  • Liaise with multiple stakeholders to ensure project tasks are allocated and supported in line with local processes and procedures.
  • Support the analysis of operational processes and procedures to ensure effective delivery and high-quality designs.
  • Provide key support to internal and external customers on a national and international basis.
  • Contribute to the reduction of operating costs through effective combination of quality designs and specifications.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO standards and adhere to health and safety practices and obligations.

Requirements

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • A technical background in Mechanical Engineering, looking to progress to CEng status.
  • Effective communication and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work tasks.
  • Fluency in the English language, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of the Marine industry is desired, and experience with Seal and Bearings is advantageous.
