Cyber Security Engineer Job Description

Job Title: Cyber Security Engineer

Location: Hybrid to Milton Keynes Office

Salary: £65,000 - £68,000

Overview: As a Cyber Security Network Engineer, you will be part of a diverse and highly skilled Managed Services team within a leading internationally advanced technology solution provider, working with varied customers in a diverse number of sectors.

The role is hybrid based with occasional travel to our Milton Keynes / Watford office, customer sites, and our data centres, principally supporting a 24/7 availability service of Cyber Security Services across our client base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement secure IT infrastructure and systems
  • Monitor and analyze security event logs to identify potential threats
  • Develop and maintain security policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of the business
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats and technologies

Requirements:

  • Cyber/Information Security background
  • Strong experience of SIEM
  • Microsoft Azure, Sentinel, Defender
  • Familiar with networking concepts such as routing, firewalling, bridging, NAT, etc.
  • Windows/Linux Servers
  • Network (Checkpoint, Palo Alto, connectivity)
  • VMware (ESXi, VSAN)
  • HP Servers (Spec, Order, Del Location, Config, Testing, Del Customer, Racking, Testing)
  • Server Racks (cabling, switches)
  • Refnet (location, capacity, config, connectivity)
  • ITIL (ticketing/change management, etc.)
