About the Role

SWAP is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Internal Auditor to join our team. As a Senior Internal Auditor, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality internal audit services to our clients, based on a sound understanding of their business needs and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver internal audit services, including IT audits, to ensure the effectiveness of our clients' internal control systems.
  • Develop and implement audit plans, ensuring that they are aligned with our clients' business objectives and risk profiles.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify areas for improvement, providing recommendations to our clients to enhance their internal control systems.
  • Collaborate with our clients to implement audit recommendations, ensuring that they are implemented effectively and efficiently.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve our internal audit services.
Requirements
  • Qualified as an Internal Auditor (CMIIA or CIA) or meet the requirements for entry to the CIA qualification programme.
  • Experience in internal audit delivery, including knowledge of IT audits.
  • Commitment to delivering quality and improvement.
  • Enthusiasm to develop the use of data analytics and agile auditing.
  • Flexibility, with a can-do attitude, and a collaborative approach to working.
  • Interest in professional development and continuous learning.
  • Willingness to undertake some travel across the Council region and to other Partner sites.
