Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and serving of all meals, ensuring a responsive and efficient catering service.
  • Cook meals for residents in the absence of the Cook, maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Ensure all machinery, appliances, and equipment are properly used and stored, minimizing the risk of breakdown and accidents.
  • Organize and maintain the storeroom, ensuring efficient inventory management and minimizing waste.
  • Sort, store, and distribute ingredients, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Clean the kitchen area, including floors and cookers, and maintain food hygiene working practices at all times.
  • Understand and actively participate in Health & Safety and Equality & Diversity Policies and procedures.
  • Respect the confidential nature of personal information and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Use computers on a regular basis, demonstrating basic literacy and numeracy skills, as well as basic computer keyboard skills.
Requirements
  • Understanding the importance of health and hygiene.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the nature of the role and the ability to pick up detailed instructions quickly.
