This is a contract opportunity with potential for permanent placement as a phlebotomist at Toni Group, LLC.

Location: The job requires floating through multiple sites.

Schedule: The working hours are 7 AM - 5:30 PM (8 hours varied), Monday - Friday.

Projected Duration: The job is expected to last three months with potential for permanent placement.

Job Type: This is a float job requiring a clean driving record and floating through 9 sites.

Summary: As a phlebotomist, the main function is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, and decontamination.
  2. Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
  3. Properly explain the process of venipuncture and/or other specimen collection.
  4. Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
  5. Fully understand all physicians' orders.
  6. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
  7. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
  8. Check test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure accuracy.
  9. Package specimens for transport.
  10. Store specimen samples according to required temperature and follow specific protocols for transport.
  11. Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
  12. Attend annual department training.
  13. Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

Requirements:

  1. Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment (required in some states).
  2. Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
  3. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  4. High School Diploma or GED.
  5. 1-2+ years of experience.
