About the Role
Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust seeks a highly skilled Clinical Procurement Strategist to join its esteemed Procurement department. This is an exciting opportunity to provide clinical expertise and support in reviewing, standardising, and rationalising medical products used within the trust.

This specialist will work closely with the Medical Device Safety Officer and Head of Clinical Products Governance to ensure the introduction of best practice and value for money products without compromising patient care or clinical outcomes. A key focus will be on implementing the Health and Safety (Sharp Instruments in Healthcare) Regulations 2013 - commonly known as Safer Sharps, and Latex projects. The role involves reviewing medical supplies, sampling alternatives, and evaluating their effectiveness.

The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of complex clinical treatments and have significant experience working in a relevant clinical environment. They should also have strong financial management awareness and be able to lead on quality, governance, and standards of care. Additionally, this individual must demonstrate compassion in practice, be able to communicate effectively, and maintain constructive relationships with colleagues. Key skills include problem-solving, conflict resolution, and change initiation. Proficiency in digital technology and computer literacy are essential. As a team player, this Clinical Procurement Strategist will contribute to an inclusive workplace culture and be committed to ongoing professional development linked to clinical competencies. Educationally, they should hold a First Degree in a healthcare-related subject or equivalent professional experience. An appropriate CIPS qualification would be advantageous but not required. A Registered Nurse or other Allied Health Professional will form the foundation of this candidate's background. To be eligible, one must hold valid certifications from these fields.
