Quality Control Inspector Job Description

Gap Technical is seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Inspector to join their team at a global manufacturing business based near Welwyn Garden City.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical sheets to ensure accurate quality control.
  • Carry out dimensional inspections of aerospace components to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Utilize handheld measuring devices, including callipers, gauges, and micrometres, to conduct inspections.
  • Work towards daily targets and record non-conformances in a descriptive manner.
  • Sign Certificate of Conformance (C of C) and complete first-off and final inspections.
Person Specification:
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in an aerospace inspection environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in the use of handheld measuring equipment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of inspection processes and methodologies, including CMM.
  • Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Physical Requirements:
  • Lift, carry, push, and/or pull 1-50 lbs frequently.
  • Squat, kneel, bend, stoop, crawl, twist, turn, grasp, and reach overhead and outward frequently.
