About the Job:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Specialist Biomedical Scientist to lead our training and competency programme in blood sciences. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the training and competency assessment of new and current Biomedical Scientists, Associate Practitioners, and MLA staff in Blood Sciences. This includes the implementation of training programmes for all grades of staff and providing continued professional development opportunities.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage the training and competency assessment of Biomedical Scientists, Associate Practitioners, and MLA staff in Blood Sciences.
- Implement training programmes for all grades of staff, including Specialist Registrars, STP, and HSST students, and apprentices.
- Provide continued professional development opportunities for registered and non-registered technical staff.
- Audit and assess the compliance of staff with regulatory body expectations.
- Maintain the training status of the Blood Transfusion and Haematology laboratory in line with IBMS standards.

Requirements:
- Postgraduate qualification in Biomedical Science or a related field.
- Registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Proven experience in training and competency assessment, preferably in a laboratory setting.
- Advanced scientific knowledge in Blood Sciences.
- Good understanding of quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
