Titanium Transportation Group Inc. is a leading asset-based transportation and logistics company with operations in Canada and the United States. With a strong commitment to safety, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Director to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing and managing all safety programs and related compliance to all fleet management. Reporting to the COO, this role is further responsible for ensuring protocols are well executed at all terminals in Ontario.
Key Responsibilities- Manage safety staff and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Actively liaise with the maintenance department to ensure safe working practices.
- Have knowledge of internal safety programs and work directly with Operations Management.
- Work through regulatory audits and have direct involvement with drivers.
- Advise on the investigation and reporting of accidents, incidents, and non-conformances while making recommendations for corrective action.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in fleet operations.
- Experience working with government agencies, MOE, MOL, POLICE, and local city and fire officials.
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
- Must possess strong organizational and communication skills.
- Must have the ability to work with business operations in a safety-first culture.
- Self-directed and decision-maker.
- Ability to handle crisis situations well.
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
- Some travel to our Ontario terminals is required.
- Able to effectively work with maintenance and operations management.
- College/University degree.
- Certificate courses in safety like Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP).
- A-Z License or previous road experience.
- Customs knowledge would be an asset.
- The desire for future job progression.
- Office environment - no remote work available.
