Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for working as a Locum Consultant in Histopathology at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust.

Key duties will include:

  • Actively supporting patients and their families in understanding their diagnosis
  • Working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Examining patients to determine any necessary tests and providing expert advice on the use and limitations of diagnostic investigations
  • Interpreting test results and determining the appropriateness of further investigations
  • Delivering clinical care to patients and conducting ward rounds and outpatient clinics
  • Overseeing the smooth running of the Pathology Department, planning workload and staffing requirements as necessary
  • Supervising and teaching junior medical staff
  • Staying up-to-date with new information and advancements in the field
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold GMC registration as a Doctor (no need to be on the Specialist Register)
  • Have relevant experience at Consultant level or references to support transition up to Consultant level
  • Hold evidence of stand-alone Right to Work in the UK (Medacs cannot offer visa sponsorship)
  • Pass an enhanced background check (DBS)
