About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Private Client Adviser to join our team at abrdn. As a key member of our Private Client Services team, you will provide high-quality tax, trust, and succession planning advice and services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tax, trust, and succession planning advice and services to clients, including drafting documentation and client communications.
  • Manage a caseload of clients and files effectively and efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external partners to deliver excellent client service.
  • Identify new business development opportunities and attend networking events to develop relationships with potential client referrers.
  • Maximise the commercial value of existing clients by ensuring their needs are being fully met.
  • Adhere to all Departmental procedures and respond to requests for information and input from the Private Client Services Senior Management Team.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a joined-up service is delivered to clients.
Requirements
  • Member of the Law Society of Scotland with at least some directly relevant industry experience.
  • Ideal candidate will be training towards or have gained a directly relevant and recognised professional qualification such as TEP.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisation and communication skills, both written and verbal, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and workload, be proactive when appropriate, and take responsibility and ownership for actions.
  • IT literate, particularly in Microsoft Office programmes.
