Job Overview

King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist to join its comprehensive Band 5 rotational scheme. The rotation posts are 6 months in duration and offer the opportunity to increase clinical skills and knowledge in a wide variety of clinical areas across many physical health specialties.

Main Duties of the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with complex needs who would benefit from specialist intervention provided by an Occupational Therapist. This will involve prioritizing and accepting appropriate referrals, planning, organizing, and implementing appropriate treatment programs, and completing and recording risk assessments.

The post holder will also be required to work as an autonomous practitioner, displaying appropriate problem-solving, analytical, and judgement skills, and to comply with all relevant trust policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • To assess and treat patients with complex needs who would benefit from specialist intervention provided by an Occupational Therapist
  • To prioritize and accept appropriate referrals
  • To plan, organize, and implement appropriate treatment programs
  • To complete and record risk assessments
  • To work as an autonomous practitioner and display appropriate problem-solving, analytical, and judgement skills
  • To comply with all relevant trust policies, procedures, and guidelines
Requirements
  • Dip RCOT or Degree State Registration
  • HCPC registered or applied for
  • Experience of working with medical patients
