About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Category Manager to join our team at i2i Recruitment. As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for managing supplier relationships and categories for agreed-upon supplier portfolios and defined categories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage supplier relationships and categories for agreed-upon supplier portfolios and defined categories.
  • Efficiently track and distribute commercial revenue from suppliers.
  • Select new products in accordance with plans for developing and retaining internal and external customers.
  • Track and report on commodities, conduct competitor analysis, manage prices, review product ranges, and provide market updates.
  • Maintain regular communication with marketing to ensure the trading strategy aligns with channel and consumer insights.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the sales team to optimize possible margins through product substitutions and recommended substitutes.
Requirements
  • Be extremely driven to meet objectives and capable of working independently and productively under pressure.
  • Have experience within buying, procurement, purchasing, or trading.
  • Have a systematic and orderly approach to work and prioritization that guarantees meeting deadlines.
  • Have a strong understanding of the foodservice and wholesale industries.
  • Have previous experience managing relationships across the product supply chain.
  • Have a solid grasp of the key variables that affect commercial revenues, such as overriders, marketing income, and product rebates.
  • Have a proven track record of overseeing connections throughout the product supply chain.
  • Have strong stakeholder management abilities and a background in dealing with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Be confident and well-versed in giving presentations.
